As anyone who's done it will tell you, flying from Florida to anywhere in the Pacific Northwest is usually a slog, but now at least there's a few more direct flight options.

Today, Alaska Airlines announced new direct flights from Tampa International Airpot (TPA) to Portland, Oregon (PDX) and San Francisco, California (SFO), this fall.

According to the alaskaair.com, non-stop flights to SFO begin Nov. 22 and start at $184,  while flights to PDX will commence on Nov. 23, and start at $169.

The announcement comes after TPA recently released renderings of its upcoming Airside D terminal, which will open to the public sometime in 2028.
