    Screen Door Microcinema

Once the pre-party wraps up at 9 p.m., those still standing will take the three-minute walk over to the honorary Res and keep the party going until doors close at 3 a.m..

    Once a year, the public gets to see the fruits of Girls Rock Camp’s labor when the camp stages its showcase at Jannus Live, but the confidence game doesn’t sleep. For this bi-monthly open mic series, the nonprofit welcomes youth 18 and under to a storied St. Pete restaurant to sing, dance, do comedy, improvise, and just perform. It’s a chance for kids to amplify their voices, and an opportunity for the community to support one of its tried and true local institutions.     The historic movie palace’s “September Sing-Along Sundays” kick off on Sept. 1 with a screening of the 1978 classic “Grease” and wraps with Disney’s animated classic “Encanto” on Sept. 29. In between are audience favorite “The Greatest Showman” starring Hugh Jackman (Sept. 8), plus director Bryan Singer’s Queen biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” (Sept. 22). He even played his first American solo show following a stay in rehab at St. Petersburg’s Palladium. While Creed doesn’t have any plans to release any new music, Stapp himself is dropping his fourth studio album, Higher Power in March.
